Sun, Sea and a Little Summer fun! Haddenham Park’s Family Beach Day

Who needs the coast when you can bring the seaside straight to Buckinghamshire?

Sunshine, steel pans, fish and chips and plenty of seaside fun were on the agenda as Haddenham Park welcomed residents, families, friends and team members for our Family Beach Day; an afternoon dedicated to good food, great company and making the most of summer together.

And from the moment the steel pan band started playing, it was pretty clear we were in for a good one!

Bringing the Seaside to Haddenham Park

For one afternoon, Haddenham Park was given its very own taste of the seaside, with plenty to see, do and get involved in throughout the day.

Our Mermaid Glitter Bar brought a little extra sparkle to proceedings, while the treasure-filled sandpit had guests digging to see what they could discover. There was also seashell decorating for those feeling creative and plenty of opportunities for families to simply spend time together and enjoy the atmosphere.

But it was the sounds of the live steel pan band that really set the tone.

With tropical music filling the air, it wasn’t long before toes were tapping and some of our residents even started having a little shimmy!

After all, you can’t hear steel pans on a summer afternoon and not move at least a little...

A Proper taste of the Seaside

Of course, we couldn’t bring the seaside to Haddenham Park without serving up a few classics.

Fish and chips were on the menu, followed by ice cream because some traditions simply can’t be messed with!

With the music playing, everyone enjoying their food and families spending time together, there was a real holiday feeling around the home.

Then came another classic seaside tradition... Punch and Judy!

The show brought plenty of laughs from young and old alike and was a brilliant reminder that sometimes the

traditional favourites really are the best.

More Than Just a Summer Party

While there was plenty of fun to be had, days like our Family Beach Day are about much more than what’s on the schedule.

They’re about residents spending time with the people they love. Children and grandchildren getting involved in life at the home. Team members swapping their usual day for a little seaside fun. And our wider community being able to come through the doors and experience Haddenham Park for themselves.

Creating those opportunities to come together is a huge part of life here.

Whether it’s a big summer celebration, one of our regular community groups or simply an afternoon spent doing something a little different, we want Haddenham Park to be a place where there is always something to look forward to.

Our Family Beach Day certainly delivered on that, with a few sandy toes, glittery faces and questionable steel pan dance moves along the way!
